Welcome

My journey with Aldenham Country Park began in the Spring of 2024. On holiday in Cyprus I was reading a book which involved a couple going on a Wwoofing holiday? I wasn't sure what that was to be honest and ended up googling it.

I discovered it was a website which specialises in places for people to go on volunteering holidays.

I joined the site and thus began my journey. I spent 16 weeks volunteering at the park in the summer of 2024 working in various different departments.

It soon became my happy place, the all inclusivity of the whole park was amazing and all the staff and animals were just wonderful.

I enjoyed myself so much and missed it so much after going back home to Yorkshire that I returned to see the wondreful Spookfest at Hallloween.

At this time I discovered the previous tenants of the cafe were leaving. The hard work began setting up my business proposals etc and how fortunate am I, I now get to manage the Warm Welcome Cafe.

Thanks to Tim, Andy, Martine, Nick, Maria and all the lovely staff for helping me along the way to this achievement.

Before this I grew up in the hospitality industry with my parents Bert and Barbara working for them in their pubs, hotels and golf club.

I gained my catering qualifications at Aylesbury College of Further Education.

Later in life I branched out and was Executive Head Chef and Head Chef in some beautiful hotels and restaurants in this country and abroad.

Now I'm coming to Aldenham and opening the Warm Welcome Cafe and couldn't be happier.
